Requirements
Orange Ex-Services' Club (OESC) is one of the leading Club Groups in Regional NSW. With a population of around 44,000, Orange is one of Australia's most significant regional cities and has grown to be the hub of NSW's Central West. It's a booming city with great facilities including hatted restaurants, wineries, modern cafes, excellent private and public schools, extensive sporting facilities, its own airport and one of the leading hospitals in the State along with all the facilities that come with such a vibrant and popular city.
With a strong membership of 27,000 and a dedicated staff of around 270, the club has three sites: The Main Club, The Country Club and The Wentworth Golf Club. The group's facilities include an 18-hole golf course, bowling greens, a 10-court tennis complex and a 78-room motel (Mercure Orange). The group has a gaming machine installation of around 250 and the main Club also offers an exciting food and beverage precinct known as 'The Greenhouse of Orange'. This is now the premier entertainment, food, and beverage organisation in the area.
OESC is certainly at the heart of Orange and its surrounds and is led by a strong Board of Directors consisting of nine (9) members. The club manages an annual revenue of around $40 million and is proud of its commitment to the community through giving back via high level grants and various ongoing support. The Club is in a solid financial position with a range of growth strategies in place. The club is proud of its social contribution to the community and its members. When you join the team at OESC in this COO role, you will soon realise that you are part of a bigger picture of 'giving back to the community' and your values must align to this to be a success in the role.
Our new Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be working in partnership with a strong Board, CEO Nathan Kelly and Executive Team. You will be responsible for managing, leading, and overseeing the Group’s core business operations. You will be leading the Management team whilst ensuring that all facets of our clubs and motel are operating to their optimum, whilst the CEO continues to move forward delivering on the strategic plan and growth strategy set by the Board.
You will be able to clearly demonstrate your understanding of the hospitality industry and have the ability to be self-directed so that the CEO can easily empower you with the responsibility to meet or exceed all targets and goals.
This role will be one of the most sought-after COO roles in the industry for 2026.
In summary, your role will include:
Operational Management across all club businesses
People Management
Compliance including AMLCTF and Continual Improvement
Operational Budgeting, Reporting and Strategy
Ideally you are someone who will bring:
Management experience at a Senior level
Strong business reporting and analysis skills
At least five years operational experience, RSA and Advanced RCG
Outstanding leadership, mentoring, and motivational skills
Excellent communication skills
High level co-ordination and organisation skills
The desire to work closely with the CEO and take on responsibility for the businesses within the Group.
Tertiary qualifications preferred but not essential
